For work and play...

I wound up with a wee bit of spare time and more humidity than I care for today, so I decided to do a little living room remix. These are two of my favourite ways to wear this dress turned skirt.

 For work:

(F21 blouse, ModCloth dress turned skirt, ModCloth shoes)

 For play:

(ModCloth t-shirt and dress turned skirt, Blowfish wedges)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! Mine has been interesting and busy to say the least. More tomorrow!

The weather changes not halfway between your house and mine...

We had an awesome sun shower last night (unfortunately, I was driving so no photos). I would have run out to take photos in it, but it had already passed by the time I got home. Aside from the ugly beige house encroaching on my shots, I'm pretty happy with how these photos turned out.

(BB Dakota dress, Target cardigan, F21 belt, CL by Laundry wedges)

I love all the colours in this dress. I'll definitely be wearing it throughout the colder months as well. It'll be perfect for layering and different cardigans and boots (!!!).

And now, it's time for the weekend!

I'm blinded by the neon. Don't try to change my tune...

I've been trying to wear some of my summer favourites (like this dress!) before the weather cools down. My colour preferences do tend to switch with the seasons, but it mostly just depends on my mood. So, who knows, maybe I'll break this out again in dreary February for a pick me up. Or around St. Patrick's Day perhaps?

This dress kind of reminds me of a circus tent. I don't usually wear such bold pieces, and I was a wee bit wary about wearing it for a while, but I love it.

I especially love the tie at the neck.

I still don't have a functioning camera, but I'm hoping to be back in business by the weekend!

My head ain't filled with nothin' but cats and rocking chairs...

These photos are from this past weekend. I wound up with a ton of outtakes featuring the cats. So many I thought I'd throw a couple in here.

(F21 tank top, T.J. Maxx (?) polka dot top, UO shorts, Aerosoles wedges)

I want to say I got this polka dot top from T.J. Maxx last year. But I'm not entirely sure about that. It's definitely one of my favourite tops, so I'm sure you'll see it more than once here.

I didn't even know Duke was behind me until I checked the photo. This is by far the best one of the batch.

These are the comfiest wedges ever. I've had them for a year or two and wear them all summer long. They're pretty much perfect for everything.

I'm still getting used to being surrounded by houses. I've considered putting up some kind of temporary (we're only renting) privacy partition along the back of the fence. I would feel much more comfortable taking photos in the yard, I would have much better lighting, and it would be super cozy! Hm, now that I think about it, I think this calls for some Pinterest project inspiration.

August, I'll see you soon under yellow moons...

Catch ya later, August! Maybe you'll be better next year. Yesterday I had my first pumpkin coffee of the year. Even though there are still technically 19 days left of summer... I'm moving on!

I knew yesterday was going to be a stormy one and I wouldn't have time later on, so I ran out and took these during an early lull in the rain (of course it cleared up later).

(ModCloth top and wedges, Tulle skirt)

Also, my camera is currently out of commission, but I didn't want to get lazy and not post... So, I used my phone! Which, along with the weird light, made these a bit funky. But I don't hate them. And until I sort out my camera, they'll have to do.

Some times, especially on dark, grey days, I just feel like dressing brightly. A little girl complimented me on my outfit while I was grabbing coffee that morning. She was adorable and pretty much made my day!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Stares into space like a dead china doll...

Autumn has always been my favourite season, but I can't remember ever being this excited for summer to end. Aside from the heat and humidity, it just hasn't been much of a summer for me. It's been one thing after another. Psh, responsibilities! I'm ready to relax and enjoy the transition to fall.

I took these around 7:00 on Tuesday night. The humidity was incredible! Bring on the cool evenings, crunchy leaves, and pumpkin flavoured everything!

(Knitted Dove skirt, F21 top, ModCloth            shoes)

Also, I'm still getting used to taking photos in such a suburban setting. I've never lived in an actual development before! When it gets cooler I'll start scoping out new locations.

Labour Day weekend is almost here. After Monday the tourists will all vanish, and the coast will be quiet again. Perhaps I'll venture out for some beach photos soon.

Oh, hi...

I'm back!

I started writing this re-introductory post at least five times in the past year and trashed them all. I could list all the reasons I took a two year hiatus from this blog. I could go on and on about why these photos aren't my favourite. But I won't because that's not the point. The point (!) is that I'm here, and I'm taking photos and blogging again.

(ModCloth top, Topshop skirt, Blowfish shoes)

I've moved a couple times since last I was here, and I've only been in my current place for a few months now. So, I'm sure I'll be experimenting with photo locations for a bit. These were my first try on the back porch I love having a screened in porch! The cats do too.

Speaking of the cats, we now have three! Here are a couple photos of them (they're excellent photo bombers, so you'll be seeing more of them). I'll be featuring some more of my favourite photos from my time away from blogging as I go along. If you're curious, I've documented the last couple if years pretty well on Instagram!

Arwen and Cormac. We got Cormac last summer.

Duke! We've had him for just over a week.

So, I hope you guys are still here, and I hope you'll stick around through this transition! I just had the busiest summer of my life, so I'm finally ready to jump back into this thing. It's good to be back, and I'm excited to see where it goes!
