Raspberry rose...

Happy Friday, doves! I'm working through some old photos this week because I took the past couple weeks off to let my skin (and eyes) breathe. No makeup, not even a swipe of mascara. I wanted to let myself fully recover from all of the nonsense I've had going on since the end of December. But I'm ready to get back into it, so I'll have some new outfits starting next week!
(Mystery cardigan, UO dress, mystery tights (Christmas present), ModCloth boots)
This is another one of my comfy, casual day outfits. I tend to throw it on for lazy Mondays or running around on the weekends. I'm a bit attached to these boots! But honestly, I'll be happy to pack them away when the warm weather is back for good. I'm ready to be outside more! I need me some vitamin D! And greenery! There are nine days until Daylight Saving Time and twenty days until Spring... Let the countdown begin!

Have a wonderful weekend, doves!

Tee tree...

Hi, doves! I meant to post this Friday evening, but instead I went to see one of my local high school's production of Shrek the Musical. My best dude friend is a teacher there and is super involved in the drama department (and he was the dragon's bum! Heheh). It was so much fun! Last week felt like the longest week ever, so it was a great way to spend the evening.

Also, I'm happy to report Cormac is back to his little weirdo self! He's back to sleeping on my head, "talking" up a storm, and slamming doors shut (he can open them, too. Oy). Such a relief!
(F21 sweater, Threadless tee, Tulle skirt, Sock Dreams tights, ModCloth shoes)
These photos are a bit old. Apparently I have quite a backlog of photos that I forgot about in the past couple months. I always feel like this sweater is a bit hobo-ish with the holes and all, but it's one of my favourites. I wear this outfit a lot on whatever days when I just want to be comfy and colourful. Also, this tee is an accurate representation of what my ultimate happy place would be. A tree filled with tunes (and books, preferably) in the sky? Yes, please!

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Forest green lace...

Hi, doves! This is going to be a quick post. We had to take our cat Cormac (if you follow me on IG, you probably know that he's my best bud) to the emergency vet late Monday night. It turns out he probably just has a bit of a bug (I never really thought about cats getting the flu), but he's very much on the mend now! So, being the neurotic cat mum I am, I didn't go to sleep until late last (Tuesday) night. Needless to say, I'm just exhausted.

These photos are from this past Sunday. I spent forty-five minutes mucking around some very swampy woods (the ground was over saturated from melting snow), and my feet were frigid! In retrospect, not the best shoe choice.
(Ruche sweater, Jack by BB Dakota top, ModCloth skirt (old), Target tights, vintage belt, one day I'll have to give up these shoes... And that'll be a very sad day, indeed.)

Lime Green & Turquoise Day...

I'm a bit of a Valentine's Day Scrooge. I could go on and on, but I've just never liked it. So, at some point I declared my own anti-Valentine's Day holiday. I wear lime green & turquoise (I just picked my two favourite colours ha) and listen to anti-Valentine's Day tunes. A friend of mine even used to make me mix CDs for the occasion! Now I just make playlists on my phone. Oh, how times have changed.

I hadn't even realized that this outfit is pretty perfect for my holiday until just now! These photos are from a couple weeks ago when I got tired of taking photos in my tiny, uninspiring yard and went over to my parents' house instead. I decided I'm going to over there at least once a weekend for photos. They have an acre with woods, a path, a field, some old fencing... The photo spot possibilities are endless... and private! Living in a sardine can of a development is definitely wearing on me.

(Pink Owl dress from Hautelook, ModCloth cardigan, vintage belt, Target tights, same shoes)
Whether you celebrate something today or it's just another Friday, I hope you've had a lovely day!

The AHA! Moment...

Errr, I'm still here! After a month of frustration, I finally found out what I'm allergic to (not the Christmas tree after all... Whoops. Sorry, tree!). I've lost count of how many doctor's visits I've had, but the allergist (along with my excellent sleuthing skills) finally helped me solve the mystery. Even with all of my allergies, this is actually the first contact allergy I've ever had! And hopefully the last.

This outfit is a direct result of having 90% of my wardrobe in the wash or hanging to dry (my allergic reaction was caused by a couple of chemicals, one very common, the other not so much, found in hand soap/cleaning products/everything in my house... which meant I proceeded to wash ALL the things to get rid of them). And, I have to say, it's one of my favourites so far!

I just bought a bunch of new tights from ModCloth to replace my many ripped pairs, and this is the pair I love most. For whatever reason, I knew I wanted to pair them with this mint skirt. And so, just as the solution to this month long medical mystery came to me (seriously, I was getting ready for bed around midnight one night when it hit me... It was a random hand soap I'd picked up around Christmas. A three day (horribly itchy!) patch test helped pinpoint the exact substances), so did this outfit.

(Olive & Oak from HauteLook blouse, ModCloth skirt & tights, vintage boots)
Since all of this nonsense basically consumed my every waking moment of the past month, I feel so out of touch with the blogosphere. So, barring anymore mysteries, I'm hopefully back for good. I'm also very slowly catching up on all my blog reading. It's ridiculous how easy it is to fall so behind. But I'm getting there!
