She'll have you talkin' to yourself and wearin' out your walkin' shoes...

(Target cardigan, ModCloth t-shirt, H&M skirt, ModCloth stockings, Urban Outfitters flats)

I love this outfit. My friend Hannah gave me this H&M skirt as a present! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to pair it with this cardigan.

This is hands down the best t-shirt I've ever owned. I wear it entirely too often but it's so comfortable! It actually has lovely little lace sleeves. Hopefully it will warm up soon so I can ditch the cardigans!

And these are my favourite flats. I bought them last summer on a trip up to Boston. We were going to a Sox game and, of course, I neglected to pack any sensible footwear. UO to the rescue! They're great. I live in them on the weekends.

All right, it's Thursday! I've got a great weekend ahead of me. We're going to the Atlantic City Beer Fest tomorrow and then to see Justin Townes Earle on Sunday! What are you guys up to this weekend?

Open the curtain and let in some sky...

These photos are the result of a dull Saturday afternoon. It's still freezing and my allergies have been absolutely out of control so I spent most of the weekend sniffling and snuffling away.

(Forever21 dress and cardigan, Target stockings over ModCloth stockings, TJ Maxx shoes)

I spent the entire weekend in this cardigan! I'm a wee bit obsessed with the whole stripes + flowers combination. Nineties kids, unite?

The dress is so soft, and I can't wait to wear it with some flats or sandals, bare legs, and a big ol' hat this summer! I'm so sick of wearing multiple pairs of stockings. Enough already!

My room is a strange combination of incredibly girly and... well, cowboy? I don't know. Dirty Harry and Rick Danko on the same wall as a Black Apple print and a vintage House & Garden calendar. I'd say that about sums me up.

How was your weekend?

Flash flood watches covered the southern portion of my disposition...

Yesterday was a cold, raw, nasty day so I just ran out back to quickly take photos when I got home. We had a hail storm later on in the evening! The hail was immediately followed by torrential rain, of course. That'll do, March. That'll do.

(Target cardigan, TJ Maxx floral shirt, Tulle skirt, ModCloth stockings and shoes)

I decided to actually wear this skirt yesterday! It has a micro-plaid pattern so it's not too boring. I paired it with a flowy floral shirt I picked up at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago. And my favourite cardigan, of course.

I wound up back inside for this shot because my hands had turned red and I was starting to soak through from the rain. This shirt is very long and has a strange ruffle round the back so I'll only wear it tucked in. The pattern was too pretty to pass up for ten bucks!

This is probably my favourite pair of heels ever. As you can see they have been well-loved. I wear them constantly. They're comfortable, and I love the design and colour.

It's almost the weekend! Anyone have anything exciting going on? It's supposed to be nasty still here so I don't have a clue what I'll do. Hopefully I'll get a bit of time outside!

Always it's spring...

Happy spring! Two days late but no matter!

(ModCloth shirt, stockings, and shoes, Tulle cardigan and skirt)

This is the outfit I should have worn today. I opted for comfort and minimal fussing, though. Since this skirt has a tendency to wrinkle no matter what I do and I can't stand having to pull and tug and smooth all day, I threw on a grey pleated skirt and grey stockings instead. But I do like this version much better. Very springy!

I'm trying not to laugh in the first photo up there and this is the reason:

This is our dog dinosaur, Argus! He's a 150+ pound English Mastiff. He's got forty pounds easy on me and, if he stood up on his back legs, he'd be almost a foot taller! He's ginormous to say the least. And a complete goofball.

He decided that he wanted my attention just as the timer was going off. Of course!

Oh, let the grasses grow and the waters flow in a free and easy way...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Anyone have anything fun planned? Last year I was sick (terrible trend!) so this year I'm definitely going out for a few drinks.

(ModCloth top, Target cardigan, thrifted skirt, vintage boots, Kohl's stockings)

After a cold, blah Tuesday spent curled up on the couch (thank goodness for This American Life, Justified, Clint Eastwood movies, and a slightly unhealthy dose of HGTV) I finally feel human again! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous and today's looking lovely as well.

I keep getting spooked by the neighbors and their dogs when I walk back into the woods. So ultimately I hastily take a few shots and wind up back at the fence by the house. When the weather becomes more consistently warm I'll start scoping out some new locations. I can't wait to sit in a big, green tree!

These photos seem almost summery to me. Who's ready for the beach??? Okay, so maybe we're not quite there yet but soon!

Have a lovely day (drunk or otherwise)!

Off with her bow!

Well, I'm back! This post was meant for Friday but I spent my entire vacation feeling awful so I never got to it. We didn't even get to the Philly Flower Show which I'm pretty bummed about. Boston was still fun even though I wasn't feeling up to doing much.

Stripes!
(Ruche shirt, Tulle shorts, Target shoes, Random stockings)

I have had this sweater for quite a while now. Every time I'd put it on I'd pull it right back off. It had this bow across the chest that looked very cute on the site. On me, however, not so much. It was bulky and stuck out awkwardly so I snipped it off. I think it looks much better.

It's not so obvious here because of the angle but since the bow is gone the top is now rather low cut. As long as I keep it pulled up a bit and my hair over it I don't think I'll have any mishaps. And, if I have to, I can just throw a shirt underneath.

And I know I'm going to be living in these shorts all summer. I keep forgetting to get a photo of the adorable buttons along the sides.

I stole these shoes from my mum (yay, same shoe size!) since she never wore them. I do like the bow on these! Sweet and simple.

I'm finally feeling a bit better today so I'll be back to posting as usual this week!

Peepers!

(Target top, TJ Maxx sweater, Madden Girl shoes from TJ Maxx, random stockings (maybe Target?), thrifted skirt)

I'm not sure if I'm going batty OR if I actually heard peepers on Monday evening! Spring is so close! I am also incredibly excited for Daylight Saving Time on Sunday (Sunset will be at 7:03 PM!). I know, I know. You don't have to tell me. I'm a nerd.

Anywho! I wore this to work on Monday.

I purchased this sweater on Sunday when my mum and I drove up to TJ Maxx in a lovely torrential downpour.

Muddy flower shoes

I bought these shoes at TJ Maxx as well. And, of course, after all that rain everything is a muddy mess. Plus I wouldn't be the girl I am if I didn't immediately go mucking up my brand new shoes!

Lace

I'll be heading up to Boston tomorrow after the Philly Flower Show! Hurrah! My boyfriend and I go up around every St. Patrick's Day. The trip is just a wee bit early this year which is all right with me. This way we'll be home for St. Patrick's Day proper so we can go out with friends.

I'll still have a post up Friday, though, so I'll see you then!

All upon a foggy night

All upon a foggy night
(ModCloth skirt, Forever 21 T-shirt, Target Cardigan and Stockings, Vintage boots)

These photos were taken two Saturdays ago and it wasn't actually so foggy! I do like that they came out that way, though. It's been rather spooky back in the woods recently, and I think the fog is quite fitting.

I've found myself wearing more neutrals more often lately and trying to make them interesting. Normally I would have just thrown my cozy black cardigan on but that would have been much too dull. The skirt has these sepia and beige tones so I figured this ruffled cardigan would do all right. What do you think? Did I hit the mark?

I play with my hair constantly. I twirl it, pull it, throw it over one shoulder, twist it up into a bun, take it back out, muss it all up, and start over from the top. It's probably obnoxious but ah well! We've all go our habits, right?

Awaiting the storm

(ModCloth Skirt, ModCloth Eclogue Cardigan, T-shirt from Forever21, Stockings from Target, Vintage boots)

I spent most of Monday waiting around for the thunderstorm we were supposed to get (We did!). Spring storms are my absolute favourite. I know it's technically still winter but it feels like spring. So. There.

I wound up with so many photos from this shoot because of a very prevalent (in my life) clothing issue. I am short. These particular stockings, though the smallest size, were pulled up well over my belly button. So when I wear a tighter shirt it looks all bunched and unkempt underneath. I struggle with my posture as it is but this makes me even more self-conscious about it all. It drives me batty!

Every now and then I get the idea to dress in peacock colours. It might be partially due to the fact that I carry the following photo of Neko Case around in my wallet:

Now, I'm not quite sure what that says about me... But at least I'm in good company?

I'm so relieved that tomorrow is Friday. I hope every one has had a good week!
