Geometric shift...

Hello, dears! I have to say, I'm thrilled to have two posts up in one week! It's a summer miracle or something. I've been in an odd mood of late. Does anyone else ever get nostalgic but antsy for change at the same time? I think the changing of the seasons does that to me. I'm nostalgic for my lazy, hazy, beach bumming summers of years past, but I'm also looking forward to cool nights and bike rides and Halloween.

And speaking of change, I'm also restarting my search for a new job. I'm grateful to have gotten this job when I did. But when life gets crazy, it's easy to become lazy and complacent. And this job isn't a career; it's not even a direction, really. So, it's definitely time to get back to the hunt. Onward and upward! Hopefully.

This dress is also a bit of a change from my normal style (... whatever that may be). I've actually had it for a while, but I kept forgetting to shoot it. It might be the most comfortable dress I own, and it fits like a glove. I love all of the different designs and shapes (especially the ones that look like piano keys)!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

August in the end...

Hi, doves! I still don't have my new camera (next week!), so these were actually shot on my phone. They're a bit wonky, but they'll do for now!

These shoes are a bit of a departure from what I might usually wear. I bought them for the wedding I attended last month, but they turned out to be much more wearable than I'd expected! They're surprisingly comfortable, and their peachy-nude colour is really rather versatile. Also, yes, I live in these shorts.

Is anyone else left wondering where their summer has gone?? I live on the coast, and I haven't even been to the beach once. How pathetic! We've had a very mild summer this year (which is why my outfits have been more springy than summery, I think). Cool mornings and evenings with a good bit of rain. That's the kind of summer I like best, even if I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. But I will admit that I'm getting excited for fall!

Periwinkle.

Hi, doves! I've got another older set of photos today. These are from a stormy day in May, I think? Yikes. I haven't even gotten to take any photos since June! Which is really rather ridiculous.

This is just an easy outfit I throw on quite often. The dress is a little slouchy but well made, and it works well with layers in the fall or just wedges in the summer.

Thanks so much for sticking with me, you guys! My eye has healed (hurrah!), so I'll be back with more current photos next week!
(Old ModCloth dress, old cardigan (Target?), vintage belt, Aerosoles wedges)

Oh, PS! I completely forgot. My beloved camera finally died a couple weeks ago. It was old, but I loved that thing. However, I'm excited to play around with a fancy, new camera for the first time in years!

One paisley summer...

Hey, hi, I'm here! I don't know where the time has gone. This summer (well, year) has just been one thing after another. I'd planned on coming back last week, and then I found myself at my ophthalmologist's office everyday to treat a corneal ulcer (I have super sensitive, easily irritated eyes/skin/everything. Although, I am happy to say that my allergies have greatly improved overall thanks to my shots. Here's to progress!).

So, here's a quick outfit post (I took these in June. Sigh. Where is my summer going?!). I could ramble on endlessly about everything that's gone on since my last real post. But I think I'll just keep it brief for now and address things on their own. This has been an extremely rough year all around. I'd like to just let things come out naturally and address each on its own. So, for now, how about a little good news? I'm engaged. How about that! I also have plenty of photos to post from our trip to Oregon! And I got to see one of my best friends from college for the first time in years at her wedding. There have definitely been some good times, even if they quite frequently seem so fleeting.

(And this is what happens when the sprinklers come on whilst shooting an outfit... Whomp whomp.)

I'm eager to get back into the swing of regular posting and blog reading ASAP! I need a little stability, and this blog is always a nice constant to come back to. Any John Cusack fans, by the way? I couldn't resist the terrible post title. Ah well. See you doves soon!
