I lived through a record one summer last fall...

It's eighty degrees outside. On the first day of October. Not what I was expecting! But I also wasn't expecting the government to actually shut down and to be out of work today. So, hey. Today is just full of surprises.

(UO top and dress, Chelsea Crew heels)

I bought this dress and shirt together on a trip to Boston. I wear the shirt all the time in the summer with shorts. But I literally only wear this dress with this shirt. It's super low cut and short. But it's also quite soft and comfortable, so I'll have to think of some cool weather ways to wear it.

Well, at least I go to spend most of the day outside instead of in a stuffy office? Who knows what tomorrow will bring!

  1. What do you mean about the gov.? I don't watch the news so I've heard nothing about it-

    1. I try to stay away from it too! In a nutshell, The fiscal year was up as of midnight Tuesday morning/Monday night, and congress failed to pass a federal budget. So, except for essential personnel, the government effectively shut down. I work for a contractor, so I'm out of work until they get over themselves and pass something. Blah!

      Thanks so much, dear! <3

  2. You look so lovely! I'm so sorry that you've been effected by this governmental craziness, but it's nice that there is an upside (i.e., being able to enjoy the weather)! I hope everything gets resolved quickly.

P.S. - Our government is pretty laughable, right now. Actually, it's been worthy of ridicule for quite some time now. Hopefully, we've hit rock bottom and there's nowhere to go but up. Hang in there! <3

    1. Agreed! And thanks so much! I'm working towards the day I don't have to deal with this anymore. But here's hoping this is settled soon! <3
